BBC Smallholding Series - Looking for business applicants
BBC2 is preparing to shine a light on the demanding, unpredictable and diverse world of smallholding by challenging 10 novice couples to take on their very own small farm.
Filmed over the summer the programme will see the couples learn just the basics they need, before decamping to a farm in the beautiful British countryside where they will be discovering all areas of farm life, from animal husbandry to coping with the often not so glorious summer weather. The series will culminate in the winning pair getting the opportunity to live and work on their own small farm more permanently, forging ahead with smallholding towards their owns dreams.
Applications are being welcomed from couples of all ages and relationships from married couples to siblings and friends, however an obvious passion for growing food, caring for animals, sustainability or food is must for the show, as the BBC would like it to be a credible and hopefully successful small holding partnership that comes out of the project. They certainly won’t be shying away from showing just how tough smallholding can be or underestimating what a test this will be for the rookies, however for the right people it should be a wonderful and life changing opportunity.
People wanting to apply for the series need to send an email with their name to farm@splashmediatv.co.uk so an application form can be emailed out.
